Clos des Papes Chateauneuf de Pape Blanc 2013

Chateauneuf de Pape Blanc is a wonderful, if less famous, sister to the mostly red wines of the area. The Marsanne and Roussanne dominated wines tend to be big, full of apricot and peach and with a big, bold and oily texture. They can age well, although are delightful in youth.

Partner with all seafood dishes, chicken and sashimi, or even slightly spicier Asian dishes.

The Clos des Papes Blanc stems from just 4 hectares of vines. Considered one of the best wines of the region, you will be certain to enjoy it.

Jancis Robinson gives this 18/20:

Very aromatic with strong floral notes with some citrus. He finds anise. ‘I personally drink old whites at the table, eg 2009 or 2001. But I have clients who love young wines, but they have to drink them in the first two years, or wait.’ Very attractive herbal undergrowth. Beautiful texture. Never any oak. Round but not fat.
